Both males and females masturbate for a number of reasons. Most adults state that it is because they don’t have a current sex partner.   • Masturbation can be relaxing and help you get to sleep.
  • For some masturbation energizes them.
  • Some females state that it gives them relief from the physical discomfort that they experience during a period.
  • Masturbation is a means of learning more about ones self, enabling them to have better sex with a partner.
  • Self-stimulation enables you to become gratified when you feel aroused and you may not have a sex partner or you partner may not be available.
  • Masturbation allows you to enjoy sex at your own pace.
  • Through self-manipulation you can continue the pleasure for whatever time period you choose. For some women a longer period of pre-orgasmic arousal results in a better and more satisfying orgasm.
  • Self-gratification is free of the risk of disease, pregnancy or emotional upset.
  • A few women claim that self-gratification is better than the sex they have with their partner. For these women I say it is time for you to become open with your partner and teach them how to pleasure you.
  • Some women say it allows them to finish the job that was started by their “3-minute man”.
Self-stimulation is yours to enjoy when you are in the mood for it and have the time and privacy to enjoy it. While in reality masturbation can be practiced almost anywhere I wouldn’t suggest trying to get it off on the subway, on a shopping cart at the supermarket or during a group spinning class at the gym. While some males and females stimulate themselves while driving, this takes your attention from the road and you are going to find it quite embarrassing if you have an accident and the medics find your finger or a sex toy in your vagina.
